Extra Activities in 1998
Feb. - Kid's ID Days: Patrol members assisted with the registration process at the Park Ridge Community Center.
April - Park Ridge Open House The Patrol had an informational display at the Police Department. The Patrol also provided guards at several uptown street crossings.
April - Adopt-A-Highway Program: Members cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.
May - Park Ridge 125th Celebration. The Patrol supported the celebration by purchasing a banner. It was displayed in front of the Senior Center in Centennial Park.
May - The Patrol participated in the Memorial Day parade.
May - Accident traffic control, fire calls and storm related damage made May a busy month for patrollers.
July - July 4th Celebration/Picnic: The Patrol provided security at various locations and events. It also provided security at Centennial Park throughout the night of July 3rd and 4th .
July - CPR Training: Park Ridge Paramedics provided training to members.
July - Adopt-A-Highway Program: Members again cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.
July - Park District Senior Olympics: The Patrol provided guards at street crossings to ensure the safety of the participants.
Sept. - Oktoberfest98 The Patrol had an informational display.
Sept. - Park Ridge Charity Classic Race The Patrol provided traffic guards along the course of the race.
Oct. - Citizens Patrol celebrates 19 years of service to the community.
Oct. - Fire Department Open House - at the North Fire Station at Oakton and Greenwood. The Patrol had an informational display.
Oct. - Law Enforcement show at Randhurst shopping center. The Patrol had an informational display.
Oct. - Adopt-A-Highway Program: Again members cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.
