Extra Activities in 1999

Feb. - Kid's ID Days: Patrol members assisted with the registration process at the Park Ridge Community Center.

Mar. - Assist Other Citizen Groups: Via the INTERNET the Patrol provided administrative information to the Westside Community Patrol in Anchorage, Alaska.

Mar. - Assist Other Citizen Groups: Members of the Hanover Park, IL Citizens Patrol observed the operations of the Patrol by riding with Patrol members. Administrative information was also provided.

April - Park Ridge Open House: The Patrol had an informational display at the Library. The Patrol also provided guards at several uptown street crossings.

May - Adopt-A-Highway Program: Members cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.

May 15 - Park Ridge Public Works Open House: The Patrol had an informational display and helped with maintaining safety.

May 31 - Memorial Day: The Patrol participated in the Memorial Day Parade.

July - Adopt-A-Highway Program: Members cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.

July - Park Ridge Senior Olympics: Members guarded street crossings to ensure the safety of the participants.

July - Park Ridge Fire Stations: Members provided security throughout the night at the North and South fire stations for one week during construction work.

Sept. 11 - Oktoberfest99: The Patrol had an informational display at South Park.

Sept. 25 - Charity Classic 5k Race: The Patrol provided guards at street crossings along the course of the race.

Oct. 1 - 20th Anniversary Celebration: The dinner at Crystal Palace Banquets was attended by over 100 members, former members, police and fire personnel, city officials and the two founders of the Citizens Patrol.

Oct. 2 - Fire Department Open House: The Patrol had an informational display at the North Fire Station.

Oct. 2 & 3 - Law Enforcement Show: At Randhurst Shopping Center: The Patrol had an informational display.

Oct. - Adopt-A-Highway Program: Members again cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.
