Extra Activities in 2001

 

April 8 - Anelise's 5K Run: For this first time event members guarded street crossings to ensure the safety of the participants.

May 5 - Adopt-A-Highway: Members cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.

May 19 - Park Ridge Public Works Open House: The Patrol had an information display and assisted with security. This event was held at the new facility located on Busse Highway West of Greenwood Avenue.

May 20 - Kid's ID Day: Patrol members assisted with the registration process at the Park Ridge Community Center - 1515 W. Touhy (at Western Ave.). Unlike prior years, this year registration was held on one day (Sunday).

May 28 - Memorial Day Parade: The Patrol participated in the parade.

Aug. 8 - CPR Training: Park Ridge Paramedics provided training to members.

Aug. 18 - Adopt-A-Highway: Members again cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.

Sept. 8 - Oktoberfest: The Patrol had an informational display together with the Police Department.

Sept. 29 - Charity Classic 5K Race: The Patrol provided guards at street crossings along the course of the race.

Oct. 4 - 22nd Anniversary Celebration: Citizens Patrol celebrates 22 years of service to the community.

Oct. 6 - Fire Department Open House: North Fire Station at Oakton & Greeenwood. The Patrol had an informational display.

Oct. 13 - Law Enforcement Show: At Randhurst Shopping Center. The Patrol had an informational display.

Oct. 20 - Adopt-A-Highway: Members again cleaned the South side of Oakton Street from Oriole Ave. to Prospect Ave.

Oct. 22 - Blood Drive: At the South Park Church. The Patrol had an informational display together with the Police Department.

Nov. 14 - First Aid Training: A Park Ridge Paramedic provided training to members.

Nov. 23 - Park Ridge Open House: The Patrol provided street crossing guards and assisted with traffic control in both the Uptown and Southpark areas.
