In 1979, a citizen of Park Ridge was the victim of a burglary. Out of this event came the establishment of the Park Ridge CB Patrol, citizens driving the streets using CB radios for communication.
Initially, the group was viewed with skepticism by the officers of the Police Department. With experience and training, however, we have been able to improve the professionalism of the Patrol. Many in the Police Department now value what we have to offer. We know we are appreciated by the presence at our annual Anniversary Dinner of numerous members of the City Council, city staff, Police Department administration and officers. Over the years, many of these people have become good friends as well.
